Soulful, London-based vocalist Daniel Joe releases his stunning debut; an ambient, haunting reworking of Electric Guest’s 2012 hit ‘This Head I Hold’. Teaming up with London ambient dance duo July Child, the two artists have completely flipped the original on its head. Daniel Joe’s dynamic vocal sits atop July Child’s trademark atmospheric production; with the off-beat grunts and trap-style beat a nod to the release that first sparked the success of the duo – their now infamous cover of Le Youth’s ‘C O O L’. Rumoured to be working with July Child and other upcoming producers in the global RnB/House scene, we can’t wait to hear what else Daniel Joe has to offer in the future, but for now we’re just going to sit back, shut our eyes and let ‘This Head I Hold’ take us wherever it wants.
